Around the World
Learning is exciting - or at least it should be!
Our curiosities in this amazing world God designed – from the engineering of nature to the building of relationships to the creativities of people – can never be fully quenched.
Nurturing a sense of curiosity in our children is important. It develops in them a motivation to learn, a reason to follow through on their interests, and an awe of God’s handiwork and being.
Why let kids have all the fun? Do you, too, enjoy the thrill of wonder?
You can join them in this experience when you use the Heart Training Around the World courses! These materials are now available for homeschoolers, elementary through high school, or for any family who enjoys learning and wholesome adventures. The Heart Training Around the World courses use the Heart Training Bible study and verse memory books as springboards for learning about geography, social studies, language arts, and the persecuted family of God.
Continuing the A-B-C format of the Heart Training books, twenty-six countries (from the World Watch List) are highlighted with their geographic location and two interesting facts about them. For example, using Do LAPS! Around the World or Follow and Lead Around the World you will learn that Algeria’s national animal is the fennec fox and that over 90% of Algeria’s population live along the Mediterranean Sea. Satisfy your curiosity about each country’s facts using library books or websites. Parents and children alike will be intrigued by cultures and geography as the amazing world God made unfolds in the Around the World courses! Why not extend the learning adventure by creating art projects, cooking cultural food, or writing about the country? Using Keep on Track Around the World, ‘Investing in Faith,’ high school students learn specifics about the countries’ geographical boundaries, cultures, state of Christian persecution, and how to pray for those believers. Additionally, they read, write, and share about particular Christians suffering for Christ in regions hostile to believers.
For an on-the-edge-of-your-seat true adventure, God’s Smuggler (Young Readers Edition for Do LAPS!/Follow and Lead Around the World) is read, aloud or independently, and discussed to showcase the amazing and miraculous ways God helped Brother Andrew sneak Bibles into countries behind the Iron Curtain and minister to believers there. With this emphasis on supporting the global body of believers, your family will encourage unity in the family of God, as Jesus desires. For high schoolers, God’s Smuggler is read independently and discussed in semester one and then the biblical books of Acts and 1 and 2 Peter are read and studied in semester two.
There is so much more to the Around the World courses – you’ll have to use them to experience the interactive ways of learning about God, the world he made, and how to live for him!
Have fun learning!! See more details on the Courses page.
