In China
Christians in China understand the cost of following Jesus. They experience the challenge of living for him and meeting with others to worship and grow in faith. They even know the risk of teaching their children about Jesus. The Chinese government made it illegal forty years ago to teach religion to children under 18 years of age. As of late, the lawmakers have even enacted rules of what can be taught inside the home. Many church-run schools around China, which are not validated by the government, have been raided and closed. Sometimes the staff is detained, school and personal belongings seized, and/or teachers put in prison. Christians throughout the vast land of China are committed to teach their children to obey and submit to Jesus. The joy of serving Jesus is worth the persecution they endure.
Let’s pray for these Christian Chinese families:
Heavenly Father, you love and provide for your children in ways that are beyond our understanding. During these difficult times in China, may your Holy Spirit empower and comfort families as they strive to honor you. Please meet their spiritual, emotional, and physical needs according to your riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Give the parents your wisdom and peace as they teach their children godly truths while living under religious oppression. Be glorified!
