The family of God spans the globe. In some parts of the world, brothers and sisters in Christ are suffering persecution, either by the hands of their government or by those in violent opposition to Christianity. Yet, these Christians take a stand for Jesus and are hungry for God’s Word.

Imagine not being able to own a Bible due to persecution or governmental control.

Imagine longing for your own copy of God’s Word so you could learn from it, memorize it, and share God’s truths from it.

Imagine risking your life for the sake of serving Jesus.

This is the plight of millions of believers in regions hostile to Christians.

Now imagine the joy of these believers as they receive their own copy of the Bible to read and then share these truths.

Each week you have the opportunity to pray for this member of the family of God, who is now also reading the Bible and growing in his or her faith. To date, Heart Training has partnered with Voice of the Martyrs to distribute Bibles to believers in China and Nigeria and has partnered with Heaven’s Family to distribute Bibles to believers in Iran.

How you can support persecuted Christians:

Pray. Pray for the believers, and pray for their persecutors.

Learn. Learn about those who are being persecuted and their struggles. Learn about the countries involved. Learn about those who have given their lives in the name of Jesus.

Support. Support prayerfully and/or financially the ministries serving these believers in hostile regions. Many ministries have various ways the believers are supported, both spiritually and physically. Some examples are: providing items (such as Bibles, emergency kits, medical necessities), providing temporary shelter, providing for widows, and writing to imprisoned, persecuted believers.
