Transformation through Jesus ushers in a passion for following the one true God. While aware that persecution will likely follow, those who know the truth of God and his presence in their life are confident of being in his grip. Their faith is bolstered. As they allow God to lead them, they find refuge in him amidst evil’s attempts to stifle the effects of their faith. When this persecution brings change to the believers’ plans, they trust God’s will and how he will use them for his greater purposes and glory. Their perspective is narrowly focused on God but broadened with love for others. On their journey with the Lord, they choose to forgive their enemies and the Holy Spirit brings peace, often leading others to the Lord. Our persecuted brothers and sisters know that following Jesus means also following in his sufferings.
Let’s pray for these fellow believers:
Father, thank you for our spiritual family members who are examples of living for you in the face of adversity. Please keep them in the grip of your hands. Day by day, allow them to sense you with them. Heal the emotional and physical wounds they may have from the opposition they face for your name’s sake. For those who must worship secretly, we ask that you bless them with your peace and joy as they spend time in your presence. We know you are able! Thank you!
