Sometimes we live in our own little world, don’t we? Our thoughts barely travel to people around the world who live in conditions far worse than ours. We might not often think about the global family of believers, especially ones living in places opposed to Christianity. You may have read the recent reports of Myanmar experiencing a devasting earthquake. Are you also aware that Myanmar is ranked 13th on the World Watch List for countries hostile to Christians? There are spiritual challenges each day for the believers in this country, especially for those who convert to Christianity. They may be driven from their homes, deprived of food or health care, attacked or even killed. We need to remember them, our brothers and sisters in Christ – as we pray and as mission groups serve them. May the unity of believers bring encouragement, spiritual strength, and provisions to the Christ followers in Myanmar.
Let’s pray for our persecuted Christian family who live there:
Our Father in Heaven, you are sovereign, just, and loving. We ask you to bring peace and healing in Myanmar. We know that true peace comes only through Jesus, and it extends to all aspects of life. You care about your children in Myanmar and hear their cries for help. We ask that your Holy Spirit bring comfort in their adversity, discernment with their circumstances, and joy amidst their suffering. As they suffer for Christ, may they boldly give you praise that they bear his name (1 Peter 4:16). Help them to stand firm on the Rock of their salvation and point others to you! Reveal yourself as Provider, Healer, Savior, and Protector.
You can pray weekly for persecuted Christians when you use a Heart Training book!
