The Word of God is impacting and transforming. Why would we want to miss a day of that power?
Sometimes, unfortunately, I miss what God wants to teach me about myself.
Sometimes I do not want to see the sin in my life.
Sometimes I cannot see how God is at work.
Sometimes I am not giving enough wonder to his majesty.
I am grateful that God is so patient with me.
Isn’t it amazing how God’s Word can be read time and time again, yet a fresh insight can be received? Then, a new aspect of truth can be internalized and applied. As I allow the Holy Spirit to work in me, I can be transformed by the renewing of my mind.
God gives wisdom when we ask him, including an understanding how to apply his words. “Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law,“ reads Psalm 119:18 (NIV).
As I meditate on verses and read them in context, I get a clearer picture of what the message is. I can learn more about who God is and how I can be in alignment with his will.
Don’t you marvel at God’s power and kindness?
Aren’t you struck by his holiness and jealousy?
Aren’t you in awe of his sacrifice and love, demonstrated by Jesus?
I want my awe to motivate me to wholly obey God, die to myself, and submit to him for his glory… because I know who he is!
